Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband - Chapter 1155 - Kid?

Jake stood looking at the door which had closed after Noah left. He didn't know what to do or what to think as he felt lost. Where had things gone wrong to change Noah suddenly? He was fine when they started but later looked hurt and angry.

Sighing deeply, Jake moved his hand through his messy hair, feeling frustrated, and went to the refrigerator to grab the bottle of the beer. 

Sitting on the sofa while staring blankly ahead as he sipped the beer, Jake tried to figure out, but he got no answer. 

He was sure Noah, too, felt something about him but always tried to ignore it. 

'Is it because he is afraid of such a relationship?' Jake thought, 'It's not easy for me too, but I have finally decided to follow my heart. If he doesn't want it, I can't force him. But….I don't think I can be without him...what should I do? I tried to stay away from him, but I just couldn't. It's really tough...Argh.." he frowned.

Feeling conflicted over everything, Jake continued to empty the beer bottle down his throat.

Noah went to his car in a hurry and sat inside as he angrily slammed his hand on the steering wheel. 

"Damn!" he cursed and leaned at the steering wheel. Closing his eyes, he rested his head on it.

"What am I doing?" he mumbled and stayed like that. Soon after, tears rolled down his eyes that he couldn't stop.

"Why did I fall for it? Why couldn't I avoid it? It's going to ruin everything again. I can't go back there..never...."

He spent a few moments alone to calm himself and wiped his teary eyes by grabbing the tissue paper from the box.

Pulling out his cellphone from his pants pocket, he dialed the number. "I am coming there."

After getting the response from the person on the other side of the line, he hung up the call and drove away.

The following morning Jake, who fell asleep on the sofa, woke up. The outside was brightened up with the sunlight, and he checked the time only to see he woke up late. It was almost breakfast time, and he looked at the kitchen to search for someone, but there was no one. 

"Is he not back yet?" Jake mumbled and stood up to check for Noah. 

When he checked Noah's room, he was not there. Jake went to check the shoe rack, and the shoes Noah wore before leaving were not there. It assured that Noah didn't return. 

'Soon, it will be office hours, and he is not back yet. Does he want to be late today? Is it because of me he didn't return?' Jake thought.

Jake found his cell phone and dialed Noah's number as he felt worried.

Every time Noah stayed out till late at night, he made sure to return home by dawn at least as he didn't like to be late for his work or more like he preferred to return home first wherever he goes.

The cellphone continued to ring for a long time, and finally, the call was received. 

"Hello!"

But instead of Noah, Jake heard the female voice. Jake recognized it and understood that it was Nicole.

It startled Jake as it never happened before that any woman answered Noah's call, and he went silent. 

Since long back, Jake had stopped letting himself be affected whenever Noah was with any woman and had spent his nights with them, but today it affected him, and he felt hurt. 

"Hello! Jake, is it you?" Nicole asked though she already saw the name on Noah's cell phone screen.

Jake got back to his senses. "Y-Yes...Noah…."

"He is still sleeping," she answered.

"Ahh, Okay! He didn't return so…."

"He drank a lot last night and doesn't seem like he will wake up anytime soon," she replied.

"Hmm! Let him rest," said Jake and hung up the call after saying bye to her. 

Jake felt a dagger piercing his heart. For the first time, he had to get the updates about Noah from someone else, and if it was not enough, he was still sleeping at someone else's place and in their bed.

Lu Mansion.

Jiang Yuyan stepped out of her room early so she could go downstairs without crossing her path with Lu Lijun in the corridor. Thankfully he was not out of the room and she felt relieved.

The previous night she couldn't sleep after how she was affected by Lu Lijun's bold approach towards her and felt like digging a hole somewhere and hiding inside it forever. She had no will left to face Lu Lijun alone.

The two came across each other only at the breakfast table where Jiang Yuyan totally avoided looking at Lu Lijun as if she didn't see her, even though he sat on his chair and they were close.

But nothing could stop Lu Lijun from looking at his wife and taking care of her. 

When the food was served in front of everyone, as usual, Jiang Yuyan's dish was different from others- less or almost no vegetables. 

Lu Lijun frowned and exchanged his dish with hers, "I wish to skip vegetables today."

Jiang Yuyan looked at the dish that was kept in front of her which was rich with lots of vegetables. 

The others looked at the two and were ready to see their argument just like in the past.

Before Jiang Yuyan could even frown at the sight of the dish in front of her, Lu Lijun spoke to Lu Bao as he passed her more vegetables. "Elder sister should eat more veggies."

Lu Bao was shocked with this sudden care from Lu Lijun and was on cloud nine as she felt I aww for him. "Thank you so much. Now I know you care for your sister too."

"I am more worried for the baby. We don't want when the baby will grow up, he or she skips eating vegetables," Lu Lijun replied calmly.

Jiang Yuyan frowned inside as she knew his words were directed towards her while others could only smile, understanding the underlying meaning of his words.

"What's great about eating vegetables?" Jiang Yuyan subconsciously mumbled under her breath and it surprised others.

She didn't look like her cold self who stayed quiet whatever happened but she literally acted like a spoiled young girl who frowned over when things happened against her will.

Jiang Yuyan was busy looking at the dish full of vegetables and sulking over it while others looked at each other in surprise. Well, it was a good thing the way she acted. 

Lu Lijun, who heard her mumbling too, commented,  "I knew kids catch bad habits as they grow up but they stop after a certain age. Seems like one kid here doesn't wish to grow up ever."

"Kid? My...." Jiang Yuyan stopped and raised her head to look at others who were already staring at her. 

"You can finish what you were saying," Lu Bao teased and Jiang Yuyan turned embarrassed. "I would love it if my baby would learn to curse while in my belly and it will save me from the trouble of teaching my baby later."

Everyone laughed hearing it while embarrassed Jiang Yuyan lowered her head and started eating quietly, even vegetables too.

Lu Lijun glanced at her and smiled seeing her embarrassed and munching like a little girl who looked like she had been forced to eat.
