Chapter 714 Avalanche

-A few minutes before-

Driving the car, Erica made her way up on the steep road. She had to make sure that she stayed alive because her boss was waiting for her to deliver the medicine. Looking at the soldiers around her, she felt rather annoyed by the fact that Ferdinand had to send people to watch over her.

'I'm not a kid, damn Ferdinand.'

Her beautiful face contorted as she saw the rocky road in front of her. Even though she had learned how to drive a long time ago, it didn't mean that she like to drive on bad roads. However, she knew that those people were chasing after her. If she didn't move quickly, they would catch up to her.

Even though Ferdinand was strong, she didn't know how strong that man exactly. Her boss didn't tell her anything regarding that matter because he only gave one order to her. "Take the medicine and don't offend Ferdinand."

BANG! BANG!

The sudden sound of gunshots woke her up from her thoughts. She glanced to the side and saw that a man was standing on top of an open truck with another man standing with a spear ready on his hand.

"Make way!" Erica bellowed.

"Mrs. Erica, you have to use another way," the soldier that accompanied her using a motorcycle warned her with a pale expression. He recognized the two of them, so he knew that it wouldn't do them any good to fight either one of them.

"What?

BANG!

Another bullet hit the motorcycle in front of her. Erica was startled to see the driver lost control and fell to the side, crashing to the nearby trees.

"They're strong!" the soldier said again.

Erica gnashed her teeth in anger. From the route that Ferdinand showed her, there was a way out not far from the road that these two blocked. If she could bypass them, there shouldn't be any problem.

"There's another way from the other side, but it's nearer Ferdinand's mansion. You have to return back," the soldier explained again.

BANG!

Seeing that another car was shot, Erica knew that she would be their target soon enough. Slamming the steering wheel to the other side, she made a rough U-turn and returned back to the way she went before.

"Elder Patrick, there's one car running away," Neo informed as he aimed his gun to the nearest car again. He was using a sniper rifle, the M14 type* that has shoulder rest, which allowed him to shoot comfortably. This type of gun didn't require him to reload numerous times, so it was quite convenient.

"Let it be, we have to take care of these ants first," Patrick pointed to the cars that approached them. "Also, you better hide in the truck after this. They're going to shoot you."

BANG!

"They are still far away," Neo replied. He aimed for another man and shot again. After several times, he noticed that they were coming closer to them, so he jumped down to the back of the truck and lied down with the rifle ready on his hand.

"Stay there, this won't take a long time," Patrick grinned.

"Are you sure about that, Elder Patrick?"

"Obviously."

When they came nearer, they started to fire their gun towards the two of them. Unfortunately for them, Neo was covered by the metal while Patrick swung his spear in circular motion. That movement conveniently blocked every bullet that came his way.

'Now I'm glad that I chose a metal spear today.'

Patrick moved forward and swung his spear towards the tires of every car near him. His movement caused the control to go awry and numerous cars crashed with one another or made their way to the trees around them. While he was handling those near him, Neo made sure that no one escapes alive.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Within one minute, the fight had ended. Numerous cars were broken and many of the men died.

Stab!

"There are some of them that run away," Patrick remarked as he pointed to the area below them. The road was heading downward. Except they were not following the main road, they would be heading down.

"We should continue to the second phase," Neo put away his rifle and took out a device that he placed in the truck. "We're not going to be swept away by the avalanche, right?"

Patrick rolled his eyes. "I won't pick this place if that's the case. Just smash them all."

"If you say so."

With that, Neo clicked the button and a loud sound of explosion rang not far from them. Even though they wouldn't get hit by the explosion directly, the sound alone was still very scary.

The two of them watched as a massive volume of earth in front of them started to move down with inconvincible speed. Because of the gravity, they were pulled down even faster, bringing a large amount of pressure to anything below them. Sweeping everything along their way, the avalanche continued down.

"I hope that it won't affect the entire area too much," Neo gulped down.

Patrick shook his head. "Kevin had evacuated every village around here. Besides, Jason's Villa was located on the other side of the mountain. There shouldn't be any problem."

They had found out about this place from a long time ago because Kanae told them that they met Ferdinand while training in the past. Even though it was only a coincidental meeting, they chose to investigate the area and found out that Ferdinand did have a mansion in this area. This place was empty most of the time, so no one would be able to watch him here.

While they were handling the matter of the two representatives, they were also preparing for making an avalanche here. Originally, the one who should fight against Ferdinand was Patrick because there was no way they could survive if they had to fight against Ferdinand once again.

However, Kevin and Kanae changed their plan by coming to Cain's place in the hospital. From outside, they only visited Charlie, who had just woken up. But in reality, they also visited Cain that stayed in the hospital because of his special condition.

He didn't know what they were talking about, but the young man agreed to help them out and made a barrier for them during a crucial moment. All that was left was coming to this place at the right moment to capture them all.

"I never imagine that the representative is someone who Ferdinand knows," Neo sighed. He thought that Ferdinand wanted to kill them, but it seemed that things were completely different.

Patrick rubbed his forehead. "Now that things have escalated this far, we have to make sure that the country's government won't be angry at the death of one of their representatives."

"Can't your junior do something?"

"I'm not sure myself," Patrick recalled Matt. He didn't mind asking for another help, but he wasn't sure that Matt would be able to help. The man's position was not that high in the government to the point of being invincible. He could only influence the decision a bit.

"We'll think for a way after this," Neo pointed to the avalanche that had stopped forcefully.

"Let's find that woman. No matter what, we can't let her get away."

"Yes."
